ECB's Rehn: Found pragmatic and sensible solution to German court ruling

Regarding German constitutional court ruling on European Central Bank's (ECB) bond-buying programme, the ECB found a "pragmatic and sensible" way forward, Governing Council member Olli Rehn told Handelsblatt on Thursday.

Rehn further added that their solution won't raise any questions on the independence of the ECB.

Market reaction

The shared currency failed to capitalize on this headline. As of writing, the EUR/USD pair was down 0.35% on a daily basis at 12.10. Meanwhile, Germany's DAX 30 Index was up 0.5% at 12,151 points.
