China’s July trade data (USD): Upbeat Trade Surplus, Exports unexpectedly jump.

The China customs published trade balance for July in USD terms, reporting a bigger-than-expected increase in the trade surplus, as exports jumped unexpectedly while imports fell less-than-expected.

In USD terms,

Trade Balance (USD) came in at +45.06B versus +40.00B expected and +50.98B previous.

Exports (YoY): +3.3% vs.-2.0% exp. and -1.3% last.

Imports (YoY): -5.6% vs.-8.3% exp. and -7.3% last.
