US says Federal ban on Huawei sales is not illegal punishment, asks judge to throw out the lawsuit – Bloomberg

The Bloomberg came out with a news report quoting the US Justice Department lawyers from recent appearance while challenging the March month lawsuit filed by China Huawei.

The news report say that the US law prohibiting federal agencies from buying Huawei Technologies Co. equipment isn’t legislative punishment but serves to protect against China gaining a strategic foothold in those agencies’ networks.

It was further mentioned that the Justice Department lawyers on Wednesday asked a federal judge in Sherman, Texas, to throw out a lawsuit Huawei filed against the U.S. government in March. 

The news report also quotes the US government’s filling, "Congress’s concern that Huawei could be used by the Chinese government to target U.S. telecommunications networks did not develop overnight".
