Fresh reports from CNBC updating progress on trade talks between Washington and Beijing states that:

  • "An administration official has said that the two sides have not agreed to a date and place for a Trump/Xi summit, though that could happen later today. 
  • As of now, no planned announcement today -- unless Pres. Trump decides to announce himself in the Oval.
  • on China deal, per admin official -- still structured as separate subject matter agreements, with an underlying enforcement mechanism linking them. 
  • Still disparity on enforcement, and how/whether tariffs will be used."
