NZD/USD consolidating USD strength
FXStreet (Guatemala) - NZD/USD is consolidating on the move that came post the FOMC hawkish tone.
The US dollar has been consolidating its gains over the course of the past 24 hours post a hawkish FOMC that lead to the bird dropping from 0.8640 to reach lows on the 0.8500 level. Strategists at Westpac Banking Corporation ABN noted that the quiet local calendars leave AUD and NZD watching China and broad USD sentiment. “This should leave AUD/USD lower on the week but the kiwi seems more likely to consolidate heady gains”.

The 20 DMA is 0.8436, the 50 DMA is 0.8341 and the 200 DMA is 0.8169. RSI (14) reads 44.69. Supports are ascending from 0.8435, 0.8460, 0.8492, 0.8510. Spot is 0.8528 while resistances are 0.8597, 0.8641, 0.8676 and 0.8733.
