China: Growth forecasts expected to take some attention - Rabobank

Analysts at Rabobank suggest that China’s growth forecasts can be expected to take back some attention this week given its three day Central Economic Work Conference.

“The Communist Party’s annual gathering is expected to conclude with a brief communique.  Although China’s key economic targets for 2018 are not due to be disclosed until the annual parliamentary session next March, there is some speculation that some of President’s Xi’s remarks will be published this week and that these could include hints about the country’s predicted growth path for next year.  The markets are trying to gauge how serious China is about potentially reining in credit creation going forward.  This would lead to a slower pace of economic growth.”
