Germany: Annual HICP inflation up 1.2% in January, as expected

FXStreet (Barcelona) - According to data released today by Destatis, German annual HICP inflation rose 1.2% in January, following 1.2% growth registered the previous month. This result is in line with analysts' forecasts. On a monthly basis German HICP fell 0.7% in January, after rising 0.5% in December, as expected.

Year-over-year German CPI increased 1.5% in January, slightly down from +1.4% in December. On a monthly basis CPI declined 0.6%, compared with the 0.4% rise.
