GBP/USD hits fresh daily lows
FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - The GBP/USD remains vulnerable near daily lows at the beginning of the American session as BoE Governor Carney speaks in Edinburgh.
The GBP/USD stretched to a fresh daily low of 1.6543 in recent dealings, although investors seem unwilling to extend the sell-off ahead of the FOMC decision. At time of writing, the Cable is trading at the 1.6555 area, recording a 0.1% loss on the day.
GBP/USD technical perspective
"The consolidation pattern below 1.6667 high is still on the run and I favor one more downswing towards 1.6500 area before renewal of the general uptrend towards 1.6750", said Stoyan Mihaylov, analyst at DeltaStock.com. "Initial intraday resistance is projected at 1.6626".
