US Dollar wobbling around 97.00
The greenback, tracked by the US Dollar Index, is alternating gains with losses today within a tight range around the 97.00 barrier.
US Dollar up for the third week in a row
The index keeps the trade in fresh 4-month highs above the 97.00 mark, closing at the same time its third consecutive week with gains after bottoming out in the boundaries of 93.00 the figure in late June.
Data wise in the US, advanced Markit’s Manufacturing PMI has come in at 52.9 for the month of July, bettering estimates and previous reading at 51.6 and 51.3, respectively
US Dollar relevant levels
The index is gaining 0.09% at 97.09 and a breakout of 97.37 (high Jul.20) would open the door to 98.58 (high Mar.1) and finally 99.95 (high Jan.21). On the other hand, the immediate support lines up at 96.60 (200-day sma) followed by 95.38 (low Jul.5) and then 95.29 (55-day sma).
