Research Team at BNZ, suggests that Thursday night’s US CPI release will round out the week and expectations are for core CPI-ex-food and energy to inch higher on an annual basis.

“It’s worth noting however, that the WTI oil price remains almost 20% below its level of a year ago, despite its 87% rebound since mid-February. This may depress headline inflation for a while longer. Inflation data will likely also remain a bit of a side-show until uncertainties in the US labour market and the UK referendum are resolved.”
