Latest TNS ‘Brexit’ polls results drags the British Pound lower

The 'Brexit' remains a key overhang for the British Pound as the latest survery results are showing diverging trends.

The latest TNS online poll was consistent with its previous findings, giving the ‘Leave’ campaign a lead of 3 points over ‘Remain’.

Here are the voting intensions of a sample survey of 1,222 adults conducted between 10-12 May:
• 41% Leave
• 38% Remain
• 21% Undecided

The results still shows that one in five voters (21%) are still undecided on whether to vote to remain or leave the EU. However, there are signs that the undecided group is reducing from as high as 26% and 28% in previous polls.

The GBP/USD pair printed a new session low level of 1.4554 and is currently trading slight off the lows at 1.4565.

ECB's Makuch: It's not necessary to consider further easing at this point

ECB board member and Slovakian central bank governor, J. Makuch crossed the wires last minutes, noting that further ECB easing is not required at present.
