FTSE heads for a weekly loss

FXStreet (Mumbai) - The London’s Ftse index appears poised to end the week lower, after two-week rally. But, the gains in Anglo American PLC and Pearson PLC ensured the index remained mildly positive on Friday.

The index currently trades at 6663.50; up 0.14% on the day. Among the index stocks, Anglo American PLC shares climbed 2.00% as mining heavyweight said it will maintain its dividend despite having posted a loss in the first half of 2015. Shares in Aberdeen Asset Management fell 0.8% after suffering 7.6% slide on Thursday after reporting a disappointing quarterly update.

Other major Ftse gainers are Vodafone, Land Securities, GKN, and Smith and Nephew. Meanwhile, the minus side include Diageo, Ashtead group, Antofagasta, Glencore and Kingfisher. Despite being moderately up today, the index still suffers a weekly loss of almost 1.8%.
