AUD/USD capped by 0.9000

FXstreet.com (Athens) -The AUD/USD is hovering around 0.9000 area, ahead on Jackson’s hole symposium.

Will Jackson’s Hole give momentum to the pair?

After a very quiet end to the week in Asia-Pac, the European and US session has been equally quiet so far. The ‘aussie’ holds above its recent lows trading around physiologically important 0.9000 level. Although any significant recovery appears unlikely the downside pressure has eased as stocks hold on to modest gains.

Technical outlook on AUD/USD

The ‘Aussie’ is now trading at 0.8986, down 0.23%.The FXstreet.com Trend Index shows the pair to be slightly bullish. Daily pivot point support can be found at 0.8972, 0.8948, 0.8926, and resistance at 0.9085, 0.9107, 0.9130, respectively.

Senior Analyst, Axel Rudolph at Commerzbank said the negative divergence seen between the daily RSI and the EUR/USD's current August high at 1.3453 points to a top being formed.
