USD/CAD testing highs near 1.2070

FXStreet (Edinburgh) - The greenback is challenging session peaks vs. the Canadian dollar, now lifting USD/CAD to the area of 1.2070.

USD/CAD firmer on dollar, data eyed

The pair is advancing for the third consecutive session so far, looking to recover part of last week’s pullback to the area of 1.1910 amidst a positive start of the week of the US dollar.

Next of note in the pair will be the NAHB index, ahead of tomorrow’s US Housing Starts and Building Permits, while the speech by Governor S.Poloz will be the main highlight in Canada on Tuesday.

USD/CAD levels to consider

The pair is now up 0.52% at 1.2076 facing the next hurdle at 1.2094 (21-d MA) followed by 1.2107 (high May 12) and then 1.2145 (high May 8). On the other hand, a breach of 1.1982 (low May 15) would aim for 1.1920 (low May 14) and finally 1.1900 (psychological level).
