USD/CHF falls to fresh session lows

FXStreet (Mumbai) - USD/CHF fell to fresh session lows in the mid-Asian session, bouncing-off 0.9306 levels and resumes its side trend after a false breakout witnessed in the previous session on weaker US dollar.

Back below 0.93 handle

Currently, the USD/CHF traded -0.28% lower at 0.9284 levels, having posted fresh session lows at 0.9280 levels some minutes ago. The pair edged lower as traders continue to digest downbeat US macro data released in the US last session. US retail volumes m/m fell 0.8% in January against an expected drop of 0.4%. Initial jobless claims rose to 304,000 in the week ending February 7, from 279,000 a week before, against forecasts of 287,000.

Meanwhile, USD/CHF extends its recovery mode after the revocation of a cap rate on EUR/CHF and general intraday downtrend persists until 0.9306 level is breached.

USD/CHF Technical Levels

To the upside, the next resistance is located at 0.9306 levels and above which it could extend gains to 0.9347 levels. To the downside, immediate support might be located at 0.9250 levels and below that at 0.9221 levels.

NZD/USD supported above 0.7400

The New Zealand traded modestly flat against the greenback in a choppy Asian session, although supported by mild gains in the Aussie and a recovery in oil prices.
