AUD/JPY back into 97 territory

FXStreet (Guatemala) - AUD/JPY is trading at 97.22, up 0.18% on the day, having posted a daily high at 97.28 and low at 96.93.

AUD/JPY has returned back to the 97 handle with a weaker Yen as markets push the barriers and test the 119 handle in the Major. The USD/JPY was offered in early Tokyo but the theme of a stronger dollar plays on. In the same respect the Aussie struggles on the upside and this may limit the cross in as far as how much further it can gravitate should the Aussie hold within the short term range.

Much will now depend on where the Yen finishes up vs the greenback before the year is out. There are a number of US data releases next week and the BoJ coming up today. However whether we can have a final push in low volumes into holiday season is unlikely. The cross needs 98.00 to put it back in the driving seat ahead of 100.00.
